Workshops
As fun as our workshops are we have a very serious objective in mind, and this is to get you to sing in HARMONY.
How do we do this? We focus on:
Teamwork
- ‘Us’ working together
- Singing about things that we understand e.g. Happiness, sadness
- Enjoying the experience
- Working together
- Celebrating life
Understanding
- We assess who sings what e.g. Soprano, Alto and Tenor
- We look at the Comfort Zones of everyone singing, and allow everyone to define their own comfortable singing voice.
- We Teach with and without harmony to allow everyone to develop confidence
- We Share some information about the history and legacy of gospel music so everyone can understand the context
Support
Key resources from our workshop sessions are made available online including:
- Guidelines from the ‘taught’ session
- Vocal recordings and musical scores from the songs used in the teaching sessions.
- Examples for warm up and vocal exercises.
- Support email framework for those with further questions.
Beyond the workshop Gospel Music Workshops aim is to not only to support you in your endeavour to create singing opportunities, but also to encourage a life long relationship with us beyond the workshop.
